3 Weeks 4 Days
Pigs may be flying. Last night was a good night, today was a good day. Knock on wood.
The post-partum doula started today and showed us how to wrap J. up so his gas doesn’t bother him as much. We plan to talk to the pediatrician on her advice about whether the formula he is on is making him extra gassy, though he has been on about 80% breast millk the last few days so he may just be gassy because he eats too darn fast.
The doula is a god-send. Calm, knowledgeable, not a breast-feeding zealot. In fact, she said that most twin mothers she has worked with just feed both kids 100% formula so if I can manage 50% I am way ahead of the average. She did laundry, washed bottles, did the dishes, emptied the dishwasher, all while feeding and keeping the kids calm while I got sleep.
Then, this afternoon was actually the first time I have been alone in the house with the kids, no grandparents, no B., no doula, and it went great. Tonight is bound to be a nightmare since they both were down most of the day so I am off to pump (again) shower and go to bed.

Great news! (under the circumstances) So happy to hear the doula is such a great help. All for now. xoxo

Nope, not a nightmare - I even got a chance to watch my second NetFlix movie - “Junebug” - I give it a thumbs up.

Way to go, Stacie! I am cheering for you and your awesome doula because I think you finally got the message that YOU ARE DOING A GREAT JOB!
And - I recall from my breastfeeding counselor’s training, that babies who get about 50% breastmilk seem to reap all the same benefits that babies who get 100% breastmilk…
Please remind yourself constantly what an amazing woman you are, and what a wonderful mom!
Hugs,
Pam

Dear Stacie,
Cannot wait to get there and help you and the babies. The flowers are beautiful. That was very thoughtful. Thanks you again, Love Grandma Berry
