We’re going strong at 21 months. I keep thinking we’re going to do ‘child-led weaning’ but they do not seem to be slowing down at all. I love it so much too, so it’s fine, but when I talk about ‘when they wean’ my husband just rolls his eyes. His mom said all 3 of her boys loved b/fing so much she had to kick them off at age four. Re: grammar, I’ve always prided myself on spelling and grammar but now with my mushy mama-brain I know I’m sending some stuff out into cyber-space that is less than stellar…please forgive!

While I do think that I’m generally a less judgemental person than I was pre-infertility and pre-parenting, I do have moments where I get my superiority complex on, mainly related to breastfeeding….

You’re my hero, so you deserve a MEDAL and some metal. How about platinum with a big diamond in the middle. Yeah, i want one of those. I’m hoping to go as long as I did with my first two kiddos- around 14-15 months, but we’ll see how it goes. Breastfeeding twins is certainly an adventure!

You know, P., the most helpful thing anyone said to me during the early days ws you when you said that 50% was good. I was stuck in this “all or nothing” mindset in which I felt like a failure if I wasn’t able to exclusively breastfeed. You were the voice of sanity, and I’m not sure if I ever thanked you for that.

What’s even more wonderful than actually making it to 10 months, is that you seem to really enjoy it, too. I’m so happy for you & your babies that it’s working out so very well. I was worried about you early on, but you overcame your difficulties. A really big accomplishment!

You should get a, um, uh, meadow! A motto! A mandolin! A museum, a monkey who does tricks for you!
