New Toy
I’ve been shopping. The babies have left many of their toys behind developmentally, and we are on to the next wave. The Walker Wagonhas been a hit.
What do your 1-ish year olds like to play with?

St. Paul hit the nail on the head when he said, To the pure all things are pure, but to the impure nothing is pure (Ti 1:15). It is a tragically impure world that labels the purity of a baby at the breast as "gross." For those with the purity to see it, a nursing mother is one of the most precious, most beautiful, and most holy of all possible images of woman. (source)

I don’t know if these links will work in this space(sometimes comments get screwy with links and I forget how to make them smaller), but I recently emailed these to a friend so I had them handy
this ikea push toy is awesome.

This music and lights on this barn toy can be turned off which I appreciate, and the blocks are fun in themselves.

My mom also picked up one of the old school fisher price farms with animals and those round peg people on ebay and he just loves it.
this shape sorter keeps him entertained for hours and the silly sounds are just whistles, not anything battery powered

This many sided block thing is just a good time all around. I’ve seen four year olds play with it at the library so it lasts for a while.

Wow, they are speedy. They must be a handfull (JK). Two people said this to me on our walk to work/daycare today. It looks like a great pick on the toy.
You’re ahead of us on toys, we still sit still and play with things, so blocks, cloth books, and rings, as well as anything with buttons or levers are big hits these days.
With his shorts and t-shirt and teething necklace James looks like he’s ready for the beach.

Our guys loved their sand and water table at that age. They still love it, but when we first got it for their first b-day they were so excited!!

OMG. That’s so cute that they push eachother. That looks like a fun toy! We like the Leappad activty table, but I’m not sure how much longer it will be a favorite.

I love F.’s dress!! Where did you get it? Does it come in 2T? Looks like they are enjoying their new toy!

I got her dress at Papaya Patch (http://www.papayapatch.com/). Their web site isn’t e-commerce yet, but if you call they will take a phone order and ship. (And I think they stock up to 3T)

My girls love their wooden and cloth play food and their little play kitchen. They like to “feed” each other. I don’t remember my boys being into pretend play at this age but the girls are digging it. They also love the little slide that we have inside. It’s not as exciting, but they love Mega Blocks too.

Mega blocks, musical instruments, play food, books, books and more books, shoes, hats, and of course, a ball. But, I think their favourite toy is still their big brother.
I think they Walker Wagon is great! Your two look like they are having a blast with it. My husband and I were saying that would never work around here, the two year old would run over the twins, and they are just starting to walk. Oh, it would get so ugly.

Oh, holy cuteness, Batman! Thank you!

Mine loved playing in a ball pit then. The downside was we had balls everywhere when I went to clean up at night.
He got one of these for his first birthday: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=br_1_9/601-8910364-0355328?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B000MAFQ3E he just turned two and he still plays with it.
Of course, books and building blocks (toddler legos) are always a hit with him too.
We also love blocks similiar to this: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=br_1_8/601-8910364-0355328?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B00000IV25 just plain wood, nothing fancy, but at the same time you can build just about anything with them. A minor downside is when he learned to throw the balls from the ball pit, he tried to throw these too, and, well wooden blocks hurt.
The Walker Wagon looks like great fun!

heh, yes it does have pink in it.. but it isn’t all pink. I have no problem with some pink. I just hate the look of pepto-pink babies. lol

Today I started out feeling sick but watching Fiona play with the sprinkler makes me feel great.
