Bedtime is 8, and they are usually actually down by 9, and they tend to get up at 7:30 or 8:00.

We don't have twins but our eldest didn't sleep consistently through the night until he was 4 years old...he's ow 4 1/2. We hope to add sleep log functionality to Baby Manager (www.babymanager.com) by end of year. So much to do...so little time and so little money. :-)

Thanks for including us in the blog carnival.

They sleep in separate cribs in the same room. We co-bedded until about 4 months when F started kicking J in the head. As far as I can tell, F is occasionally woken up by J, but she is able to put herself back to sleep. He wakes up at predictable times, screams, then smiles a giant grin when I come to get him. He is happy and almost asleep after nursing, but when I put him back in his crib he arches his back and wails. Thus, the co-sleeping. If B gets up, B can put him down as well, but it takes him longer and, well, he has that whole "working for a living" thing for which he needs to be awake.

yes, remind me how they sleep. do they nap together? share a crib? I can't remember.
I'm about ready for the room transfer over here.... we're nearing the four month mark and I know what is to come from past experiences if I don't buckle down soon and start some SERIOUS sleep training.
keep us posted, Stacie.

No, I read somewhere recently that most kids do not sleep completely through the night until two. That was true for Z for me. S started sleeping through the night at 8 months.

Good luck. I know it is hard to believe you will look back and miss being needed for certain things, even if it was a long arduous phase when you were going through it.

Ugh! My little guy started sleeping through the night just at 12 months. He still naps twice a day.

Do they sleep in the same bed? same room? Could they be waking each other?

Hi! Just jumping over here after seeing your comment on my blog. I'd be honored if you'd add me to your blogroll. I've been a visitor to your blog before--your twins are precious!--and I hope to check in more as time allows. I'm sure we have lots of info we could share about twin napping habits! Thanks for visiting my blog.

I sympathize with your night wakings. My children both sleep through the night, but now we have other issues. One of them requires that I be with her All. The. Time. (She's four.) So if I put her to bed in her own room and don't stay the whole night, she is apt to wake up howling at dawn's first light, and she's Extremely Pissed Off that I am not there with her. She hates me to get up earlier than her too, even if I slept with her the whole night!

The other child, who's now nearly 7 years old, I have to get myself up twice a night to escort her to the toilet or else she will wet her bed. Nightly I choose between sleep or extra laundry.

Best of luck with your quest to find more sleep!

Shouldn’t this be better?

It would be nice if it were, but I don't think it's outside the realm of "normal" or "typical." Really. The only reason I get more sleep than you is that you have two and I have one, and my one is an easy family-bed-sleeper. Sanna was up almost hourly between 10 and 6 overnight. The longest stretch of sleep in there was the three hours she slept on my chest.
