St. Paul hit the nail on the head when he said, To the pure all things are pure, but to the impure nothing is pure (Ti 1:15). It is a tragically impure world that labels the purity of a baby at the breast as "gross." For those with the purity to see it, a nursing mother is one of the most precious, most beautiful, and most holy of all possible images of woman. (source)

I’d imagine there’s not much in life that is as rewarding as feeding and bonding with your child while simultaneously horrifying the prude.

Congratulations! I love to hear about mothers of twins breastfeeding for a year or more. It shows everyone that it can be done.
July 5th, 2007 12:50
Wow a year! Seems like a LOOONG time lol
July 5th, 2007 13:30
Very nicely done. I like how you show how incredibly hard it is in the beginning (pumping for so long, having trouble getting tandem going) but then one can see how comfortable all 3 of you are with it now. Congrats on making it to a year!
BTW, maybe you’ve mentioned this recently, but how often do they nurse these days? Are you planning on starting any cow’s milk now that they are 1?
July 5th, 2007 14:41
They probably still nurse 6-8 times each day.
I’ve offered them cow’s milk in sippy cups but they didn’t seem interested. Ice cream they like, and they haven’t had any adverse reaction to it.

Now THAT’S what I’m talking about!
OK, I’m a guy. Deal with it.

Dude, if that is enough to turn you on, you need to get out more. Oh. Wait. You have infant twin daughters, You’re never getting out again. Hahahahahahaha

You’re my hero, breastfeeding twins for a year is just amazing. And your kids are beautiful. I hope it is really easy for you to reach the WHO goal, you deserve it after all that work!

Happy Birthday to your duo! Congrats on the one year mark! We’re still going strong here at 14 months. One of my twins was nursing while I watched that video and she was fascinated! I think she thought it was her sister or something.

Wow, you don’t know me but I just wanted to say “thank you” for you guts of showing the hard work of breastfeeding twins. I was feeling the blues today and to see you today change my thoughts on giving up on breastfeeding my twins! I have twin girls and I’m at my 5th month of breastfeeding them both without any supplement. (I’m trying the cereal but wow I don’t think they are ready yet) I thought I was the only one having twins pushing my breast out of their mouth all the time. LOL I feel hopeless time to time about my milk supply and I was starting to get scared. You definitely made me feel so much better now to reach my goal of a year minimum to nourish my bundle of joy. Thank you Thank you Thank you!!! You are an angel.

Way to go! You’re such an inspiration! Thankfully I never had to nurse twins (yet). It makes the hard work in nursing one pale in comparison.

You used to teach me english…
November 29th, 2007 15:47
You know, if you see a video called “one year of breast feeding twins” and it is your former high school English teacher whose breasts you’d rather not see (and I certainly would rather not see the breasts of any of my former high school teachers) maybe you should employ common sense and just not watch it. Just a thought.

Go you! You’ve done a fantastic job, through the double teething, sleeplessness, heckling, etc. etc. What a great mama. It can be ahrd enough with just one. Thanks for being in the vanguard of making nursing visible and (hopefully) socially acceptable. Saw your video on YouTube. What sweetie pies you have; they look healthy and happy.
