OMG, too funny! Well, not funny, but you know what I mean. M. has the same highchair, and does the same thing.. just becareful F. doesn’t pull that over on herself. M’s done that already, not a pretty site.

I keep them in the kitchen now – they were out because B did a thorough clean of them. After this, I put them back into the kitchen. Then che climbed onto the dining room table because we had left a chair out by mistake. On the table she helped herself to the left over cereal. I have a video of that too, but it isn’t off the camera yet.

OMG that scares the hell out of me.
October 5th, 2007 11:32
That scares me, too! She’ll be bungee jumping before you know it! (Do people still do that, or was that a fad?)

Amazing how fast they are, huh?! My boy wasn’t much of a climber, but my girl… too many times have I found her on my table… and it only takes a second! I have to be super vigilant about pushing the chairs in, but she’s still able to squeeze herself in and up somehow… ugh!

I am both impressed and scared to death.

I always wondered when we would know it was time to stop using high chairs!
October 5th, 2007 14:32
I really don’t remember your ever being a climber. Wonder where F gets that from?

Just a few seconds ago the ad above the video was for booster chairs. Too funny. It’s changed already.

J wouldn’t be if he didn’t see her do it, and even seeing her he doesn’t that much. Just an innate personality thing, I guess.

OMG! I can hardly believe it! Look at her go! I love the feet-slapping noises, and then her balletic foot movements as she looks for a foothold. And then she just…CLIMBS RIGHT UP.

Ahhhhh!!!!!
October 5th, 2007 17:09
This was really scary for us at first but now we can say ‘get in your chair, it’s time to eat’ and they climb right in and try to buckle themselves in, too. Little monkeys!

Too cute and way impressive but OMG scary …Mine – they are trying to climb out not in .S & J are both climbing everywhere too on our chairs and pushing them over to where they want them to be.

Wow… scared and applause..

That little stinker! Don’t know if you’re still co-sleeping, but have you ever found them in the same crib after you put them to sleep in separate ones? I’m very worried about this happening one day…
October 6th, 2007 21:39
We are only co-sleeping when they insist on it, which is generally when they are sick. So far, no climbing out of cribs. When that happens we are moving to toddler beds that very day (well, mattresses on the floor that very day, toddler beds to follow soon thereafter) unless they are old enough that we get to transition to twin beds right away. No crib tents – there are terrifying cases of kids getting caught in them whilst climbing out.

Wow. Go F!

Reminds me of the time C. climbed from the living room floor, to the piano bench, to the piano, to the mantel over the fireplace, and Pann came in and found her looking down at the floor in terror. She was about 18 months.

Had to come back and comment again because on the evening of the day I watched this, I watched one of my twins do the very same thing in his high chair. Freaky coincidence. I’m still not giving up on high chairs yet though because they are so easy to clean!
