I can't believe the lack of manufacturer attention to this, especially from those that don't make goods in China. If my stuff was made elsewhere I'd post that fact all over my web site and advertising. If I was a retailer, I'd have signs pointing out every toy not made in china as well. Of course, those toys would fly off the shelves.

It's hard to find sites that help you find non-chinese toys, and a lot of the sites that do focus mainly on wooden toys. I found a couple sites that help find mainstream toys that my kids actually ask for. I've found a lot at www.toys-without-china.com and FAO Shwartz. FAO has a country search, but who can afford $300 for a stuffed bear?

Hi, I like this idea of having a place to find lead free toys. I have also written an online page about where to find lead free toys. My link is www.associatedcontent.com/article/441363/where_to_purchase_leadfree_toys_this.html I also describe in there a little on what each website has for types of toys. There are a few companies that I was able to find that are lead free and those are listed on there as well. Good luck!

I just found this site, www.kangarooboo.com they offer handmade products and phthalate-free baby boys with brands like Vulli (Sophie the giraffe). The search by country is nice. They also donate a % of your oder to kids charities which I think is a wonderful gesture.

Super helpful. Thanks.

These recalls are getting out of hand. I'm afraid that this is only the beginning and we're going to see alot more as we get into the Christmas time. I now go to www.leadtoyrecalls.com every day to make sure I have the latest news.

It's also got guidelines for toy safety, a list of safe toys, and how to dispose of unsafe toys.
