Again, Thank You
I just wrote out checks to send to the kids’ college funds thanks to your ongoing interest in Google’s ad offerings. You, too, can add ads. You won’t make a fortune, but a few extra dollars in the 529 account never hurt anyone. The targeting is kind of funny – whenever I put up a post about breastfeeding a formula ad is sure to show up – but it seems to be usually on track.

I wanted to say thank you for this post, Stacie. I put Google ads on my blog after one of your posts about contributing to your kids college fund with Google Ads money. I agree that the targeting can be odd, but so far we have only had one inappropriate ad that I felt the need to block. Thanks for giving me this idea. Every little bit helps.

I have been mulling over doing this, but I heard they don’t pay unless you make a certain amount per month? But I guess I could always stop if I don’t like it, right? I was going to email you to force you to talk more to me about it, but I’m not sure I have your email address. Hm, maybe I’ll do a post asking people to tell me their experiences.

They only pay out when you reach $100 but it rolls from month to month so if it takes you 6 months to get to a payout, well, it does, but the money doesn’t go away at the end of the month. Does that make sense? The kids made me sick, little buggers, and now we are going to miss our Halloween party. It’s sore throat and snotty nose time here at Chez Twinkie.

Okay, I’ve started the sign-up process. I’m kind of excited about this now! I’ve been mulling for a LONNNNNG time, and your post today made me think, “What is it I’m waiting for? It’s not like they require a life-time commitment: if I don’t like it, I can ditch it.”

I’m pleased to use Google Ads on my site, if for no other reason than to try to justify my blogging addiction.
(“well, hon, it is paying off in its own sweet time… for every 10 hours of blogging, I’m getting, like a dime or something!”)
It’s all thanks to the great kindness of readers who see the ads and KNOW that we ONLY get paid when there are clicks, and so their great interest in these ads is piqued and they click… and click and click….
