Jane’s Addiction
J was messing around with the radio and it ended up on a rock station. Jane’s Addiction’s Been Caught Stealing came on. F promptly began bopping around with great enthusiasm. All this time I’ve been playing Putomayo world music for children and what she really likes is 90s rock.

I love the mental image of J tuning in some good 90’s rock (always rather liked Jane’s Addiction, I must confess) for F to rock out to!

Both of mine like Elvis, Nick seems to like Queen, and William, to my horror, likes smooth jazz and easy listening.

Two comments in one day!
When my son was around the same age he was obsessed with that song. He could sing the chorus and would do so with great gusto in front of the in-laws. They didn’t really get the whole, “been caught stealing, once, when i was five” stuff.

I can completely sympathize. A few months ago, the only song that would keep my daughter from crying in her carseat was Kanye West’s “Stronger”. What can I say, she is really into hip hop. Go figure.

At least I like Jane’s Addiction. If she is into all the stuff from my high school days that would be awesome because I am getting a wee bit tired of her toddler CDs.

I got tired of the baby and toddler music, pretty quick, too…and remembered loving the music my mom played when I was a kid…so now they listen to what I like. We usually park the stereo on a Retro (80’s) station and Julia thinks the Jazz that ABC national morning news plays during the weather updates is pretty cool and smooth. Nic is starting to like it now too. And they both like Adam Ant. Next, I’ll break out some Jane’s CDs, per your suggestion. Do you think its too early for Nine Inch Nails??
