St. Paul hit the nail on the head when he said, To the pure all things are pure, but to the impure nothing is pure (Ti 1:15). It is a tragically impure world that labels the purity of a baby at the breast as "gross." For those with the purity to see it, a nursing mother is one of the most precious, most beautiful, and most holy of all possible images of woman. (source)

I’m sorry!
Is it time for a low-jack? ; )

Hahaha. I felt that way when MJ learned to climb the bookshelves. She can open the gate (figured out the button and everything) but hasn’t tried climbing it yet… Although she does push a chair to the front door to get up high enough to try to open it. lol

Oh but she’s so proud of herself afterward!
Sorry, I know that’s not a big consolation…

Isn’t “tool use” a great skill? You need to bolt that chair to the floor - in the middle of an empty room.:) Actually you might to check into these gates, they are much less scaleable (as they are taller, and have nothing one can get a purchase on half way up, incidentally they are also pinch-proof), excepting the use of step stools. http://www.amazon.com/First-Years-Hands-Free-Gate/dp/B000058CC7 There have been 4 year olds in my house who could not get through, around, or over these gates because you have to be over 40 lbs to make the pedal move.

I have to say I have never seen a more fitting description to a video.

This is a great clip. I especially love watching J as he SEES what F is up to.
He’s obviously quite impressed!

My worst nightmare. Okay, not my worst, but pretty damn close.
Good luck with that new “skill”

That was hilarious. I am so sorry.
Laugh Stacy, knowing that Matthew is capable of the same thing…

Okay, I am having total deja vu… there must be another twin mom who posted something similar recently. Complete with the look of pride of the one who made it over, and the anxiety of the one who didn’t. I would think it’s funny, except I see my future.
I totally understand now why, on one of those programs with sextuplets or some # of HOM, the parents had put double gates up, one on top of the other. At the time I thought it was over the top (ha, ha) and negligent.

I dread the day that happens.

I feel your pain. Eva was talking about the other twin mom who’s child just did this. I am the other twin parent who’s child just did this. My life is changed forever. I’m sorry yours is too.

Oh, just give up and give the kid the car keys.
January 25th, 2008 08:55
I feel for you - I am not looking forward to this day - we have already moved the boundary fence a few times - they can push the chairs now and plan ahead to escape. Help !

Yeah…I think Nic has got the play yard figured out. She sticks her little toes through the holes and like a monkey shimmies to the top. Its just a matter of time before her big head makes her topple forward. As usual, thanks for the warning. (I think I’ll get some really big dog crates…kidding, people, kidding…)
January 25th, 2008 13:43
She did that so well. She will have no trouble getting on her pony.
January 25th, 2008 16:08
Oh boy. You are in trouble.
January 25th, 2008 17:13
Brandy @ Found a Peanut or Two recently had the same experience. I’m SO glad our gates don’t have holes.
That is SO freaking funny, she looks over so proud and poor little James is left in the dust. I’m sorry for you…time to get a second gate set on top of that one.
January 25th, 2008 23:51
OMGosh! I just showed this to the hubby. Funny, but only because we can relate. I second the Safety First Hands Free gate. Even if DS stands on the foot release with all his weight he can’t get it open. Ok, I do have to explain it to the occasional adult too, but it’s definitely kid-proof!
January 28th, 2008 11:53
Sorry, but I had to laugh. Only because I know what you are in for now…
January 29th, 2008 16:19
OM GOODNESS! I do not envy you! Can you put another gate right above it when absolutely necessary?
I couldn’t help but chuckle. She looks so happy about her accomplishment!
