Worst Diaper Ever? I Was A Fool!
Remember when I wrote about the worst diaper ever? I was a fool. No matter how bad a diaper is if the fecal matter stays within the diaper until an adult removes said diaper that aforementioned diaper, well, it’s not all that bad.
F has had two major poopy explosions in 12 hours. At 10PM on Saturday I went into her room to respond to J, smelled her and got her up. She needed a head to toe change but her PJs had kept the poop contained. Sunday morning, however, well, not so contained. Poop all over F. Poop all over the crib. Poop all over all her blankets and stuffies. Poop on the wall.
I get her naked and put her in the bath. J was screeching because he was still in his crib so I went and got Brian, the man who just had that pesky little back surgery, and told him to please just stand there and talk to J to keep him calm. I wash F. I strip her bed. I get F from the bath and get her dressed and put her in J’s crib. I start the crib clean-up.
My mother-in-law, who is staying with us to help out after Brian’s surgery emerged from her room and said, “Well, I’m going to church. I’ll pray this doesn’t happen again.”

Sometimes that’s all you can do. I’ll pray for less messy diapers, too.

arent MILs the most helpful and never full of comments (-;

Wow, how helpful. Cute in retrospect, but not terribly considerate of her. I think God may have forgiven her lateness to church had she helped her recovering son and fatigued daughter-in-law clean up after his precious creations.

Didn’t she used to scold them for pooping in their diapers? Or was that someone else’s MIL?

Please keep in mind that while Stacie is undoubtedly exhausted and overwhelmed and quite deserving of your support, her MIL has been by her side since the surgery (almost a month now), and has not returned to her home several hundred miles away so that she can help out. And she reads this blog, which is not exactly a love letter for all her kindness that has gone unmentioned.
Please continue your love and kindness toward Stacie and her family, as it is well-deserved.

Finally, a practical use for praying!

Hope the prayers worked!

Prayers? Well…OK.
I’ve yet to have a crib based poo-splosion, but I suppose I’m due. *shudder*

Instead of you MIL praying that F doesn’t poop like that again, maybe she should pray you don’t slap some common sense into her for not helping at a time when you really needed help.

I do love an awe-inspiring poop.
