Now this is just not fair…
Brian has a torn rotator cuff. That would be a shoulder injury and a miserable one at that. So… he had major surgery, still has to wear a brace, can’t pick up the kids and now has a bum shoulder for which he can’t take anti-inflammatories and so has to just tough out.
Meanwhile, the kids are just over their puke/poop fest having missed all but one days of their last week of school so I didn’t get much done this week other than cleaning up unpleasant human fluids.

Bummer. Guess it’s a good thing you have that cleaning lady, though!

How on earth did he get hurt? Brian, knock it off! The back thing I understand, but geez, dude, not your shoulder!

Alas, the cleaning help doesn’t do much for the agonizing pain he can’t take the standard meds - anti-inflammatories - for and can only treat with ice and the same pain killers he uses for his back. And, umm, were you under some illusion that Brian does housework? Because whenever he does I beg him to stop. It is’t pretty.
Because he can’t twist his back at all he has strained his shoulder trying to reach behind himself. Suckage all around.

I wish I didn’t have to keep saying this to you, but, I am so, so sorry again. I do hope in all this you find some time to get away, because it sounds like you are trying to hold everyone together and I imagine there isn’t much Stacie time in all of this!

Not fair, indeed. I have had rotator cuff damage (from rocking my daughter in her bassinette for months, no less!) and it does, indeed, suck.
You have big fairness credits coming your way.

Reading this, I had to wrack my brain thinking of the pleasant human fluids to clean up. You definitely deserve some kind of award for 2008.
I keep coming back to your tissy post and laughing out loud. Recently I taught one of my two year old boys to yell “Nes tea punge!” while he flops himself backward into the pool. I don’t know why I find it amusing that he yells this.

Awwww, rotator cuff injuries suck. So sorry Brian has hit a hurdle on his recovery.
Silver lining after all this surgery and barfing and diarrhea? Most everything else will seem easy.
