Child Led Weaning – Check
I think Fiona is basically weaned. She has only nursed a few times in the past two weeks and those were because James was doing it in front of her. When prodded by James that “Fiona hasn’t had her tissy yet” yesterday she ignored him. This morning she came into bed and asked to snuggle. I think she may be done.
35 months, if anyone is counting.

Can’t help but remember your vision of her slamming her door in your face as she’s getting ready to go off to college because you wouldn’t nurse her. Looks like she’s ahead of schedule.

Good for you and Fiona! It’s nice to meet goals for yourself and your family.
About 2 weeks after the last time Reid nursed (just over 4 yrs), she asked to do it again but got no milk. I told her that I thought my body wasn’t making milk anymore because she had stopped drinking it. She cried about having changed her mind. I told her that I could still snuggle her but she didn’t think it was the same. It’s been nearly a year and she still talks occasionally about wishing my body still made “milkies”. And I still give her extra snuggles at these times. Fiona may benefit for James’ continued nursing since he’ll keep up the supply, in case she is in need.
