Why?
We have entered, a bit ago, actually, the “why” stage. Including the classic “why is the sky blue?” I don’t recall how we got to that point other that it was a string of “Why?” after each answer to the previous question.
Me: Because of the way the light scatters in the atmosphere.
Brian: You’re going to mess that kid up.
But what was I supposed to say? Because magical gnomes paint it that color?

Long ago, I lost all hope of not messing up my kids.
We give the scientific explanation as well and it is always surprising to me to hear our answers come back out of their mouths. It is quite hilarious to hear them explain to adults why it rains.
PS. It has been raining a lot during the why stage. Why??

“Cause God made it that way” – cause that’s just the truth.

Oh yes, we’re there too, and why X2 is a bit deadening at times. I clearly use this line too much because now sometimes my daughter, after several why questions says “Mama, say ‘why do you have a case of the why’s?’”

Too funny! I wish I could say it dies down, but I think it just gets more intense as they get older. Although, I will admit I give Madison the scientific answers to things as well, most of the time it sparks more “why’s”, but that’s ok.

I try to stay away from the mythologies and stick with the scientific tedium.
