Fiona’s Halloween Costume

Thursday, October 29th, 2009 by Stacie

She’s a “Blue Moo” girl, after her favorite song on the most recent Sandra Boynton album. We went out for malts today so I could shoot her in her costume in a 50’s-esque diner.

2. Send your ONE favorite picture to me via email, email@stacieturnerphotography.com, I will then post them to a special contest album on my Facebook fan page.

3. Join my Facebook fan page, either by searching for “Stacie Turner Photography” on Facebook, or by the link found here.

4. Send people (your friends, family, co-workers, etc.) to join my Facebook fan page and VOTE for their favorite picture (i.e. YOURS!) :)

5. The winner will be announced on December 16th based on the total number of votes for each entered image. Votes are counted as comments on each individual image/entry. A person must be a fan of my Facebook page to vote. Votes from people that are not fans will not be counted!

Let the fun begin!!!

3-Day Weekend

Sunday, October 25th, 2009 by Stacie

This was NOT an optimal vacation. We were on what we thought was the tail end of three waves of illness that had gone through our house and though we considered canceling the trip it seemed like the sickest person, James was on the mend.

When you think “Should I cancel this vacation?” the answer IS ALWAYS YES.

We left Friday morning, drove to Portsmouth, and had lunch and walked around a wee bit. So far, everyone is fine.

Then, shortly out of Portsmouth, Brian got it The illness. The one I had. The one that involves no fever, some minimal vomiting, but stomach pain to make you want to die. The only treatment I could discover was heat. Get in the bathtub and don’t leave. This is tricky to manage in a car and, besides, Brian thought he had gas. We kept going.

Do not do this.

By the time we got to Maine he was miserable.

As was the case for me (and James) with this lovely illness, he felt better in the morning. We had breakfast and went out to visit my mother’s horse, Max.

Upon riding Max, which is to say being placed on the horse’s back and held there by one adult while another led the horse around, Fiona exclaimed “Go faster!”

James, on the other hand, was less enthused about being on the horse while being much more comfortable feeding the beast.

Then we took the kids swimming. Did I mention it was pouring the day we were there? It was nice the day we drove up, miserable the day we were there, and then gorgeous when we drove home. But while we were actually there is was cold and wet. After swimming we took a nap. Then it was off to my mother’s for dinner. Brian clearly was miserable but came anyway. At dinner he excused himself to go throw up, then, when he came back, fell off his chair. Oh, and then Fiona developed a fever, so we left.

It was quite a weekend.
